At Sustainable Hawke’s Bay, we’re here to support our region with practical solutions that help communities thrive and the environment recover. Whether you’re a school, business, household, or community group, our services are designed to help you take action where it matters most.

Sustainable Businesses

We partner with local businesses to reduce their footprint and become leaders in environmental stewardship. From taking that first step of assessing waste, to developing sustainability plans, organising team planting days, establishing bespoke programmes, or delivering workplace education sessions, our team support genuine, impactful initiatives that show your customers that you do care.

Sustainable Communities

We run and support grassroots projects that restore ecosystems, grow local kai, reduce waste, and build climate resilience across the region. Got an idea? We’re all ears

This includes: Zero Waste Hubs, community seed bank, beach/neighbourhood clean-ups, freshwater monitoring, zero waste events and coming soon a biodiversity restoration tool library. Contact us at info@sustainablehb.org.nz

Sustainable Education

We deliver hands-on workshops, talks, and tailored programmes for schools, kura, community groups, and businesses – connecting tamariki with the whenua and inspiring the next generation of environmental guardians.

Sustainable Events

We work alongside event organisers to implement practical initiatives that make a meaningful difference in reducing waste. Our team can oversee the entire service, from planning to the on-the-day delivery, including developing waste minimisation plans, managing the recycling / rubbish service, supporting a transition to reusable cups and bowls, and offering Waste Warriors to engage your attendees during the event.

Sustainable Homes

Our Sustainable Homes team work alongside households to assess and improve the health and energy efficiency of homes across Hawke's Bay. From sitting down to understand power bills and potential savings, to assessing heating, ventilation and insulation, our team are working to ensure that our homes improve rather than hinder our health.
