GIS Services

Sustainable Hawke’s Bay offers GIS (Geographic Information System) support as part of our biodiversity mahi – helping communities, catchment groups, farmers, and businesses bring their projects to life through interactive mapping and data storytelling. From visualising erosion risk to tracking planting sites, we build digital tools that grow with your needs. Powered locally, for local outcomes.

GIS Services

At Sustainable Hawke’s Bay, one of the many projects within our Biodiversity portfolio is providing Geographic Information System (GIS) support to communities, catchment groups, farmers, and businesses across the region.

We work in partnership with our clients to understand their goals and vision, then create interactive maps and digital story tools that present environmental data in clear, engaging ways. These digital tools are not only easy to access but can be updated over time as new data becomes available and needs evolve.

By choosing to work with a local Hawke’s Bay charity, you’re not just receiving outstanding service – you’re directly supporting a team committed to positive, wide-scale impact in our region.

Environmental Farm Plans (EFPs)

We support farmers and catchment groups to develop Environmental Farm Plans that guide sustainable land management by identifying and addressing risks to soil, water, and biodiversity.

Using high-resolution LiDAR data, we can precisely map slopes, waterways, and erosion-prone areas. This allows for smarter decisions around riparian planting, fencing, and nutrient management strategies.

Catchment Map Series

Our Catchment Map Series helps catchment groups visualise environmental issues, track changes over time, and prioritise actions for restoration and resilience. These maps bring together layered spatial data across entire river catchments, supporting better planning and decision-making for landowners, councils, and communities.

Unlike static reports, our interactive maps are dynamic tools – they’re designed to grow and adapt as new data becomes available, saving time and ensuring longevity.
